First Bank & Trust Watertown is pleased to announce Kelsey Becking as their new Agri-Business banker.
Kelsey’s responsibilities include building relationships and discussing customers’ financial needs. She also works with loan applicants to service and administer assigned loans, amongst other tasks. Her background in agriculture is a proven asset to the First Bank & Trust team and the customers she serves.
Kelsey has a bachelor’s degree in animal science from South Dakota State University and a minor in agricultural business. She built a career as an agriculture professional starting at Pioneer where she was responsible for planting, collecting data, and pollinating amongst other tasks. Kelsey then moved to the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce and was employed as the Ag Committee Liaison for 3 years. In her role as Ag Committee Liaison, Kelsey revived former Ag Committee events such as the Watertown Winter Farm Show and the Farm Business Banquet. Kelsey's efforts as Ag Committee Liaison also brought to Watertown the creation of Dairy-palooza; an event celebrating Dairy Month in June. All proceeds from Dairy-palooza were invested in the community, providing Watertown students involved in the Adopt the First Grade program with a grab bag of educational agriculture items. She has a deep passion for agriculture, growing up on her family’s farm north of Estelline, SD and now helping out at her husband's family farm and registered and commercial cow/calf operation in Florence, SD.
When not at the bank, Kelsey enjoys spending time with her husband and one-year-old daughter, Makaya. Their time together is often spent working in their show barn or checking pastures.
Kelsey is excited to grow in her position at First Bank & Trust Watertown and to continue to be a part of the community.
