Bob Faehn
Bob Faehn's illustrious career in local radio and state public service profoundly impacted the Watertown community and South Dakota. Beginning in 1984 at KSDR Radio in Watertown, Bob's talent and leadership quickly propelled him to the roles of station manager and later owner. His crowning achievement in broadcasting was the founding of KXLG Radio in 2009, a station that flourished under his vision and dedication, becoming a trusted voice and vital part of the community. Bob's commitment to local media extended beyond his stations, as he served on the South Dakota Broadcasters Association Board of Directors, championing the growth and integrity of the broadcasting industry.

In parallel with his broadcasting career, Bob's dedication to public service was equally impressive. As a South Dakota State Representative, he made significant legislative contributions, including the landmark bill that eliminated smoking in bars and restaurants, reflecting his commitment to public health. His leadership was further recognized when he was elected House Majority Leader, where he worked tirelessly to improve the lives of his constituents. Bob's service on numerous boards and committees, including the South Dakota State Board of Technical Education and the Watertown Community Foundation, underscored his unwavering dedication to his community and state. His dual legacy in broadcasting and public service left an indelible mark, inspiring future generations to value community involvement and public commitment.

Merlin Jeitz
Merlin was co-founder, and eventually sole owner, of Cook's Inc. which he first took ownership of in 1959 at age 23 in Watertown. Cook's was in business for 45 years, which Merlin expanded into locations in eight states throughout the Midwest. Merlin received numerous business accolades with Cook's, though many would argue that he was equally accomplished in his involvement on the local and state levels outside of his business.

Merlin was very instrumental in the establishment of Lake Area Technical College, the Airport Industrial Park, Pheasant Ridge Industrial Park and a number of other organizations, while serving on a multitude of boards and organizations on the local and state level.

Merlin's dedication and involvement earned him a position on the Governors Board of Economic Development under Governor Janklow. He was a 25-year member of the Watertown Development Company, and twice President, was a founding member of the Watertown Education Foundation, past-president of the Watertown Chamber of Commerce, served on the Watertown Area United Way Board of Directors and served as President, was a former Director of the Greater South Dakota Association, was past-Chairman of the Watertown Swim Club while being the driving force in the construction of the first indoor pool adjacent to Watertown High School, and the list goes on and on.

Having been born and raised in Estelline, SD, Merlin has lived his entire life in the Watertown community, and resides in Watertown with his wife of 69 years, Sharon. Since selling Cook's in 2004, Merlin has been a realtor, and is associated with Watertown Real Estate with his daughter and granddaughter, which has continued to keep him hands-on in the Watertown community.

Don Schweiger
Don Schweiger was a lifelong resident of Watertown who made a significant difference in our community. Don's impact was felt in various aspects of our town. He was a successful businessman, managing Schweiger's Incorporated from 1945 until he sold the business in 1989. Following that, he started Transmed, a mobile medical service, which he later sold in 2001.

Don's dedication to our community extended far beyond his professional endeavors. He served as the director of the Farmers and Merchants Bank and was actively involved in organizations such as the Watertown Development Association, Holy Name Catholic Church Board, St Ann's Hospital Board, Mount Marty College Board in Yankton, State Business and Industry Political Action Committee, United Way, Super 8 Development Corporation, and the Minnesota West Technical School Board in Canby, MN.

Don was a proud member of the South Dakota State Chamber of Commerce, the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Watertown Business Association. He also held leadership roles as the Exalted Ruler of the Watertown Elks Lodge 838 and served as the Holy Name Boy Scout Troop 209 leader. Notably, Don played a pivotal role in the development of the Boys and Girls Club of Watertown in the early 1970s and remained a dedicated board member until his passing in 2005.

Don's actions truly embodied the essence of Luke 12:48, understanding the responsibility that comes with blessings. He generously shared his talents, wealth, knowledge, and time with others, leaving an indelible mark on our community.
